David Ash - Partner GDC 60583
Dental Practitioner
David has been a Partner at Coronation Road Dental Surgery for 29 years and prior to that he has spent 5 years working in East Grinstead, Sussex.
Dentistry is a very rewarding profession and David enjoys the relationships that he and the staff at Coronation Road Dental Surgery have with their patients. The trust and respect is incredibly precious and makes turning up for work a pleasure.
Significant investments have been made in technology and training over the years and as a consequence Coronation Road Dental Surgery are now saving teeth that would otherwise have been extracted.
David enjoys working under high levels of magnification and the use of hard/soft tissue lasers which increases the precision of diagnoses and prescribing.
In David’s spare time he enjoys riding his bike across the Somerset levels. Has a keen interest in the local football club and sports fields, and not forgetting, spending lots of time raising funds for their development and maintenance.

Ian has worked as partner at Coronation Road Dental Surgery since 1990.
Ian carries out all aspects of dental treatment with a specialist interest in cosmetic work including tooth whitening, crowns and veneers. Ian is also interested in implant dentistry and had undertakes 12 months of training with General Implant Forum training.
Member of British Society of oral implantologists. Ian is committed to further training to improve treatment options for our patients.
Outside of work he enjoys playing golf and he is a keen Scuba Diver.
Victoria Charles BDS PG Cert - GDC 37542
Restorative(Eastman) / Associate Dentist
Victoria qualified from the University of Bristol in 2007, where she was awarded her BDS.
In 2012 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry with Distinction at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute. This involved hands-on experience and research ranging from aesthetic treatments (crowns, composite fillings, etc) to periodontal therapy. She enjoys all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry and has a patient-centred approach. Victoria has worked at Coronation Road since 2013 and continues to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. She loves spending time with her family and is kept busy with her two young children.
Julia Horseman BDS (Bristol) MFDS RCS (Ed) - GDC 37529
Dental Practitioner
Julia graduated in 2012 from Bristol University and has worked in the Bristol area ever since. She joined the Coronation Road Dental Surgery team in 2016. Since graduation, she has completed various postgraduate courses becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and is currently working towards a diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies.
By getting to know her patients, Julia puts them at ease with her calm friendly personality to make them feel comfortable during appointments.
Julia has a conservative approach to dentistry and believes prevention is the most important aspect to the maintenance of a healthy mouth. She enjoys working in general practice treating a range of dental conditions but particularly likes aesthetic dentistry and treating families.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys keeping fit, crafting and trying to see as much of the world as possible.
Rebecca Wignall - BDS ( Liverpool) GDC- 227480
Associate Dentist
Rebecca qualified in 2012 from The University of Liverpool. After a year of vocational training in Yate South Gloucestershire, Rebecca worked as a foundation dentist at The Countess of Chester Restorative Hospital and Bristol Dental Hospital working in the fields of Oral Maxillofacial surgery and Restorative Dentistry. Rebecca has worked as both a Clinical Teacher and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol. Now she focuses on General dentistry in practice as well as Facial aesthetics treatments.
Rebecca enjoys looking after her patients in a kind and caring environment and to a high standard. She also has an interest in quality general and biometric dentistry. Rebecca has undertaken a PG Certificate in Contemporary restorative dentistry and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry Rebecca enjoys socialising with friends, baking delicious treats for family and friends, keeping fit and loves to travel.
Debbie Tanner
Practice Manager
Debbie has worked at Coronation Road since 1979, initially as a surgery assistant then receptionist and now as Practice Manager.
Her role involves dealing with all administrative parts of the Practice, dealing with patient enquiries, the Care Quality Commission Policies, ensuring that the surgery is compliant in all aspects, Staff employment and contracts. No matter how busy she is, she still finds time to work some sessions in reception.
After work, Debbie enjoys shopping for shoes and bags and going to the gym.
Lisa Steel
Head Nurse
I joined the practice at 18 and have been part of the ‘Coronation Road’ team for 16 years.
I started off as a Trainee Dental Nurse under the support and guidance of Ian James and David Ash, and qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1999. I always wanted to further my knowledge and career so in 2001 I sat the Oral Health Educators course to use within the practice. I enjoyed the role as I was able to interact a lot more with patients.
My current roles now include Assistant Practice Manager, Head Nurse and Implant Co-ordinator. I enjoy all these roles as it gives me a varied and interesting input to a “week at work at corrie Road” and keeps me focused, and busy in my chosen career.
Monika Filipowicz GDC 213251
Hygienist
Monika qualifies as detal hygienist in 2009 in Krakow, Poland. Since she always wanted to move abroad ta gain valuable work experience, in 2010 she moved to Cardiff. She joined Coronation Road Dental Surgery in 2012, whilst working for other dental surgeries in Cardiff. Monika is very dedicated to her professional development and constantly strives to improve her qualifications through taking various courses in Dental Hygiene. Creating relationships with patients is extremely important for her and she always gladly gives advice on how taking care of patients’ teeth and gums.
Outside of work, Monika likes reading books, watching movies and cooking Polish dishes for her friends. With her friends she also likes travelling around the world.
Lucy Thompson - GDC 5753
Hygienist
Lucy qualified from Cardiff in 2000. Lucy re- located to Bristol from Exeter after 20 years in 2021. Lucy is passionate about her job and enjoys keeping her knowledge and skills up to date by attending conferences and courses and is committed to helping patients improve their gum health.
In her spare time she loves walking, yoga, food and seeing live music.
Millie Baggot
Dental Hygiene Therapist
I qualified in Manchester in 2000. I have worked at Coronation Road since 2002 and so almost call this home! I try and have a gentle emphatic approach to treatment and really enjoy caring for my patients. Outside of work I enjoy reading, going to the Theatre and Yoga.
Looking forward I would like to try and make preventive side of the Practice more ecologically friendly.
