Christmas Opening Hours

Fillings

There are a large number of filling materials available today to restore broken and decayed teeth. Amalgam still has a role within modern dentistry but it is becoming smaller as more aesthetic and tooth friendly materials have been developed. White fillings and active materials which help prevent further decay and are offered in our surgery.

Crowns Bridges & Veneers

Time takes its toll on the body and the teeth are no exception. When a tooth can no longer be reliably filled, a durable tooth shaped thimble called a crown can be manufactured to fit over. Crown bridges can be linked to fill gaps when teeth are missing. When aesthetics is the main concern, thin fingernails of porcelain can be used to change the position and colour of the teeth.

Root fillings or endodontic

Root filling is the process of preventing dental infections spreading into the jaw and maintaining the use of cracked or badly broken tooth. Teeth can be made to last many years when root fillings work well. Sometimes teeth are roof filled when there is not enough tooth above the gum line for a crown to fit upon. The root once filled can be used to hold a post or a screw. Using modern materials, techniques including magnification, make this once unpredictable process reliable.

Implants

A dental implant is a titanium component placed in the jaw which can then be used to replace a tooth or when placed in multiples can be used to support bridges or enhance the function of dentures. Life enhancing can restore confidence and function and have an excellent record of durability.

Dentures

Individually crafted to replace missing teeth and replace gum tissue lost through age or disease, they are still a very common solution to restore dignity and function.

Oral Surgery and extractions

Sadly there are still occasions when teeth have to be removed. When necessary it is done in a sympathetic pain-free way and this when extraction takes place. The practice has experience in all aspects of oral surgery and routinely removes wisdom teeth and carries our apicectomy procedures.
